Every method below is fitted here and every one of them is the right answer for somebody. Which one is right for you is not decided from a price list. It is decided in person, from a hair-health audit, before anything is ordered.
Matched to your hair, not chosen from a list
In the order I work through them. Each one solves a different problem, and none of them is the default.
Hand-Tied Weft
This is often the answer for hair that has always been called fine, and for anyone who has been told somewhere else that her hair could not take extensions. The rows sit flat enough that a high ponytail is usually not the problem it used to be, and that tends to be the point at which a client stops thinking about them at all.
Sewn by hand rather than machine-built, hand-tied rows sit thinner against the scalp and give a fully custom foundation with no ridge to find. They suit finer natural hair, and they suit anyone treating this as a longer-term arrangement rather than a one-off.
Machine Weft
What usually changes first is the mornings. Hair that needed twenty minutes of teasing to look full is already full when you get up, and it is generally still full at four in the afternoon rather than collapsing by lunchtime. Clients tend to notice the time back before they notice the length.
The weft is sewn by machine, which makes it consistent along its whole length and hard-wearing. It is the most-requested method here and the one most often matched to fine and medium density, because it adds weight to the look without adding much weight to the scalp. Rows sit flat and reposition cleanly at each move-up rather than being taken out and started again.

Tape-In
The usual starting point for someone newer to extensions who is not yet sure she wants a standing appointment in the calendar. It is the quickest of the methods to fit and the quickest to reposition, and it is the lowest of the install ranges.
The hair is attached on a thin adhesive tab that sits flat between two small sections of your own hair. Because the tab is wide and thin rather than concentrated, the weight is spread rather than hanging off a few strands. Density still gets matched through the audit first, exactly as it does for the wefts.
Clip-In Customization & Fit
A set you already own, or a new set, cut and colour-matched specifically to your hair rather than worn straight off the shelf. Most clip-ins that end up abandoned in a drawer were never wrong as hair, they were simply never cut in.
This is also the honest answer when someone wants length for one occasion rather than a standing arrangement, and it is the only method here that involves no commitment at all.
What the audit actually changes
She had worn wigs for years and had never worn extensions. She arrived undecided between methods, which is the normal place to arrive from, and the audit did the deciding: her density and scalp condition pointed to a machine weft install rather than any of the alternatives she had been reading about.

She left the wigs behind that afternoon. That is one client and it is not a promise about anyone else’s hair, which is the whole reason the audit comes first. What it does show is what the decision looks like when somebody actually assesses the hair before choosing the method.

Nothing above tells you which one your hair can carry, and no website can. What decides it is density, scalp condition and an elasticity test, and those take about 45 minutes in person.
